Property & Inheritance.

Property is often a family's most significant asset. We help you buy, hold, transfer and defend it, and plan for its passing, so that ownership is never in doubt.

Overview

Our approach.

Property disputes are won or lost on documents. We examine the chain of title carefully before you commit, draft with precision, and where a dispute has already arisen, we build the record methodically. For families, we prefer clear planning now over contested litigation later.

Common questions

Questions we hear often.

What should I check before buying property?

At a minimum: a clear chain of title, encumbrances, approvals and permissions, and the seller's authority to sell. A proper title review before you pay is far less costly than a dispute afterwards.

Why is a Will important?

Without a valid Will, succession follows the law that applies to your community, which may not reflect your wishes. A clear Will reduces the risk of disputes among heirs.

Can an ancestral property dispute be settled out of court?

Frequently. A properly documented family settlement or partition deed can end a dispute permanently. We advise on whether that route is realistic in your situation.
